That being said, I'm stealing an idea from my best friend's blog. For Lent, he decided to list 5 things every day that he was thankful for, thus ending up with 200 things and a rather amazing list. Today, I've decided that I'm going to one-up him, and write out 200 things I'm thankful for in one day rather than 40. Excuse the length of this blog, because here I go!
- My health. It's not completely perfect, but it's getting me by so far.
- My mom. She's my best friend and my greatest role model.
- My brother. I love him more than anyone else in the entire world, no matter what I actually say about him.
- My papa who is easily my favorite person ever. He raised me and he taught me to read and do math and appreciate nature and to be my own person. And he made me goofy.
- Books because without them, where would I be?
- Jesus. He's the rock on which I stand.
- My cell phone that keeps me in constant contact with everyone I care about.
- The internet... which has the same uses as my cell phone.
- Kelsey, the best roommate in the entire world. For life.
- Kayla, the best best friend I could have ever asked for. I'm lucky I found her.
- Kacie, the most colorful person I've ever met and a truly great friend.
- Matt, the reason I'm making this list, and the biggest goober I know. I misseth him. But I'm excited to live with him next year. =]
- I'm thankful for this number because it's lucky and awesome.
- Jacob's Porch, my wonderful church community.
- Caffeine. Who needs sleep?
- Deodorant.
- Frozen Girlscout cookies.
- Band-aids.
- Glee. Not only because I love that show but also for the hope it gives the LGBT and nerdy communities around the world.
- LOST for keeping me sane while it makes me insane.
- Grey's Anatomy for helping me overcome fears.
- My hair straightener... especially because of my newly acquired bangs.
- Shoes. Lots of shoes.
- Boys gym shorts because they're SO comfortable.
- Stickers.
- Crayons.
- Oval beach: One of the magical properties of Spring Quarter.
- Ohio State. I'm lucky to attend such a great university.
- Amanda and Alex, my future roommates. They're absolutely wonderful.
- Josh, Phil, Christian, and Adam, my other future roommates not previously mentioned. They keep me on my toes already.
- Ron Sutter, for all his tutoring that helped me graduate in the top 1% of my class.
- Toe socks.
- Fuzzy socks.
- Pictures. Just in general, I love pictures even if I'm not in them. They're great!
- All the dogs that come to campus because they're so cute, even if they make me miss my dog.
- Honeybear. MY dog! =]
- Peanut, my guinea pig. =]
- My Boss Zefron poster. It keeps me young.
- YouTube musicians like Luke Conard, Jason Munday, Mike Lombardo, Kristina Horner, etc. Their music gives me hope in more ways than one.
- Dresses. I collect them and I love them.
- Disney movies that remind me of my childhood.
- Soup. Clearly since I'm counting how much soup I eat in a year, I kinda like it.
- Kelsey's hair brush. It works so much better than mine.
- Tank tops. I never leave the house without one.
- Headbands.
- Water. So many people in the world don't have this luxury.
- Fruit snacks. Mmmm so good!
- Midnight pancakes at Sloopy's.
- The color green. It surrounds me and I love it.
- Road trips.
- Facebook notifications. They make life easier.
- The Quidditch team. They make being a nerd at Ohio State much more satisfying.
- My new-found Drackett family. They're awesome. I love being their adopted little one. =]
- Baker love.
- Cute underwear. When you wear it, you feel better. Trust me.
- Funny hats.
- My stuffed hippo. When he's on my head, I automatically smile.
- Harry Potter. Where would my life be without that book series? Certainly not here.
- My hundreds of followers on my other blog. You guys give me something to live for every day.
- The Hunger Games. I needed it right when it came to me and it made me better.
- My theatre class because it's the only reason worth getting up on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Skype so I can see my grandparents more often.
- Electric lights. Without them I'd be surrounded by candles, and that wouldn't end well...
- My microfridge. I enjoy having ice cream and pizza rolls at my disposal.
- Lotion.
- Shampoo and conditioner. Particularly the kind made for dyed hair.
- Hair dye. It's therapeutic.
- Receipts that tell me how many meal swipes I have left so that I don't need to wonder.
- Kristen and Brooke, my other favorite lady friends. I love them for very different reasons, but I don't like thinking about how life here at school would be different without them.
- Tyler and Spencer, my favorite not-sassy and sassy gays.
- Toilets/Indoor plumbing.
- My dorm pets, Joe, Cynthia and Row-Bear. The room is brighter with them.
- Team Starkid. They give me hope for theatre nerds.
- My window fan. Especially now that it's getting hot out.
- Air fresheners. Kelsey and I need them.
- Lucky Charms.
- Nail polish.
- My network of close friends in Germany who I miss very much.
- Buckeyes. They're filled with spirit.
- Pooping. It feels so right.
- Wolves because they're really pretty.
- Mirrors. I've always been attracted to them, even when I don't look the best. I'm glad there are so many of them in the world.
- Remotes. They promote world laziness.
- Libraries. They house books.
- Magnets. I collect them and they hold up my pictures.
- Musicals and the joy they bring me.
- High heels... minus the blisters.
- Pillows. I love them so much. Body pillows, fluffy pillows, squishy pillows....pillars. Ya know.
- Professors that actually assign homework and tell you about it before it's due.
- Bold Party Blend Chex Mix. It taste so good. =]
- Toothpaste.
- My futon. I don't understand how college people survive without them.
- Nerd glasses that enable self expression.
- YouTube videos for many different reasons.
- My dad because even though we fight, I know he loves me.
- My truck because it gets me places even though it's junky and little.
- Colby because he was my best friend for seven years and that kinda bond is hard to break.
- Music because it calms, soothes, and makes me otherwise happy.
- Hoodies because I like to snuggle in them and sometimes they smell good depending on whose hoodie you're wearing.
- Bible studies at the Porch because they teach me more than I could ever learn on my own.
- Other languages because they're fascinating and amazing.
- Religions other than Christianity because all beliefs are beautiful, even if I don't agree.
- The word "Trollin'" as it infests a majority of my vocabulary.
- John and Hank Green. They are beautifully inspirational.
- Book titles... in your pants.
- Tetris even though it makes me angry.
- ZOOTeens because they molded me into the person I am right now, even if they made me overly eccentric.
- Laundry fresh out of the dryer.
- The smell of a campfire on a summer evening.
- Summer rain.
- My dimples because I get complimented on them almost every day.
- Old Disney channel shows that make me realize why growing up in the 90's was awesome.
- Cedar Point and roller coasters in general.
- When someone takes time out of their day to make me food.
- Being able to stand in the shower at school for a very long time with no fear of the hot water running out.
- Being able to walk barefoot in the grass again soon.
- Really good hugs.
- Chivalry. It's not dead yet.
- Piggy back rides on tall people.
- High Street. It's so close, and it contains so much adventure.
- Frogs. I can't wait to go searching for them again. (Hurry up, summer!)
- Markers that can be easily made into swords.
- Pillow and blanket forts that bring back the feelings of being a kid.
- Sporks. Why do you need to use two utensils when you can use one awesome one?
- Glee radio. Though it sometimes ruins my memories of an actual song when the Glee one infests.
- Sports bras. Comfort no matter what else I'm wearing.
- Missionary teams that are willing to go to the rural parts of the world and spread love and service.
- Jewelry. You can spice up any outfit easily. And they're shiny.
- The Union Market because it's so close and so tasty.
- Disney internship programs.
- The oceans and the fishes... even though I dislike fishes, they're pretty and awesome and Kayla loves them.
- The price tags that have a ".99" on the end and make me feel like I'm saving a penny.
- Purses. Big purses. I like my stuff.
- Nerdfighteria. My internet family.
- The words "Once upon a time..." It's like magic waiting to happen.
- That both of my parents have great jobs.
- Search engines that make me feel smarter.
- Gifs that can express my feelings better than I can.
- Puppy-sized elephants that will one day actually exist.
- GIMP that makes me feel photographically inclined.
- Prezi. Cooler than PowerPoints.
- The ability to use my words well, because lots of other people don't even know the difference between your and you're.
- Earrings that make me feel classy even when I'm not.
- The same goes for lipstick.
- The candy nerds that are delicious and promote cannibalism.
- Perfume. It makes me smell nice even when I don't look nice.
- Darren Criss. Everyone should be thankful for Darren Criss.
- Chris Colfer. Everyone should be thankful for Chris Colfer.
- Dry erase markers and their many uses.
- Killing time. Because right now I should be doing my homework, but I'm having far more fun.
- Love handles. It's taken me three years to earn these bad boys.
- Bikers who are considerate of the people walking on the sidewalks.
- Cars who stop to let others cross the street even when they have the right of way.
- Warm days with no wind.
- Hot days with a nice breeze.
- When it rains while the sun is still shining.
- Frosting. Right out of the tub.
- Duct tape. It's one of the worlds best-kept treasures.
- Card games that reduce boredom.
- Facebook chat... as long as it's working.
- Wet wipes that can get pop out of practically anything.
- Days when the room doesn't smell because we've actually taken out the trash.
- Having a trash room in our hallway so we can steal the trash can making emptying ours all the easier.
- Elevators.
- Getting mail. It makes me feel loved.
- Mushroom Ravioli from the RPAC.
- Strapless shirts that show off my fantastic collarbones.
- Zit-free days. When they happen.
- Having a roommate that understands all the crazy things I do.
- Febreeze.
- Scarves that make winter outfits feel warmer and look nicer.
- Boots. Ugg boots. Nice, soft, wonderful boots.
- Refund checks.
- Living near two different Barnes and Nobles.
- Sing-a-longs.
- Having a view of Hale Hall Lake when it rains.
- Nail polish remover that does it's job quickly.
- RPG sites that let me remove my nerdy urges in secret.
- Having a printer in the room. Especially when I do my homework very last minute.
- Translator sites that make understand my German professor easier.
- Any video player besides Megavideo.
- Tweezers that make my eyebrows look well kept.
- Automatic windows that make converting hands into dolphins all the easier.
- Hot cocoa when it's cold.
- Striped sweaters. The best time to wear them is all the time.
- My little journal in my room that has my entire wedding already planned inside of it, thus saving me many hours of work in the future.
- Upside down name-tags that make remembering my own name easy.
- Pockets. They're like purses...but attached.
- Ticket stubs that allow for easy memory access.
- Movie nights.
- Buttered popcorn.
- Sony Vegas that makes editing my vlogs a cinch.
- Pandora because it expands my music appreciation.
- Google Chrome which automatically spell checks for me.
- Toilet paper. No one likes using leaves!
- Free Verizon to Verizon text messaging.
- Squirrels that make my hyperactive personality look slightly less hyperactive.
- Flips flops and the weather to wear them in.
- That I have so many things to be thankful for in my life that I can call to memory without really giving it much effort.
- Being able to come up with this entire list in less than 45 minutes. Which kicks Matt's butt. Sorry, bud. I still love you.
Why today was awesome: Someone really surprised me, and it made me feel pretty good inside.
